Join us on a new venture in Onslow Village this August! After receiving feedback from local parents that a performing arts camp would be perfect for their children, we are excited to announce the opening of our new camp this summer. With four years of experience running successful performing arts camps for children in Surrey, we are thrilled to expand to a new location. Discover the ultimate summer camp experience for your child, where they can unleash their creative potential through dancing, singing, and acting in a supportive and fun-filled environment.
Camp notes
The Motion Mission: Dream big, even if you're little!
A warm welcome, my name is Christia, and since 2015, I have proudly led Motion Dance. We specialise in teaching Dance, Performing Arts, and Yoga to children. Following four rewarding years as the head of Expressive Arts at Danes Hill School Pre-Prep, I have branched out to lead camps and classes for children in Surrey.
This summer marks our third year providing camps in Walton on the Hill, second year in Cobham, and first year in Guildford. We are committed to making it the "best summer ever" yet again!
SINGLE DAY BOOKINGS AVAILABLE:
Please contact Christia at info@motiondance.org to make a single day booking.
WHAT DOES A DAY OF CAMP LOOK LIKE?
Our camps specialise in teaching dance, singing, and acting to children in a fun-filled, low-pressure environment. Each day is energetic and exciting.
The children will participate in learning age-appropriate dance choreography, acting scenes, singing musical numbers, and using their artistic talents to create themed crafts for scenery and props—all while playing games and building new friendships, because that's what camp is all about!
On the final day, we aim to dazzle with a performance where each child gets their own costume, face paint, and the opportunity to experience performing.
IS THERE A PERFORMANCE FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO WATCH?
Of course! The children perform at 3 PM on the final day of each week. We provide costumes and face paint for each child to make the performance experience exciting and memorable.
MY CHILD IS NERVOUS ABOUT PARTICIPATING - HOW CAN I HELP?
We understand that your child may be new to camp and performing arts activities. Firstly, we are here to support them in making new friendships and participating in activities. Secondly, we provide a pressure-free atmosphere where we teach and guide them. Our goal is for each child to leave our camp every day feeling fulfilled and happy.
WILL MY CHILD BE IN A TEAM WITH THEIR OWN AGE GROUP?
Our camp is open to children aged 4-11, understanding that siblings may need to attend together. While we divide specific activities into age-appropriate groups, our show is a collaborative effort. Children of all ages come together to perform as one cast, fostering a sense of unity and teamwork.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR?
Children should wear comfortable attire and shoes suitable for safe dancing. Motion Dance t-shirts are available to purchase on the first day of camp.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD BRING?
Please ensure your child brings only essential items, including a water bottle, morning snack, and lunch. If your child has any allergies, please inform us, and we will request that all camp members refrain from packing foods that may trigger an allergic reaction (e.g, peanuts).
MY CHILD HAS A SPECIFIC MEDICAL CONDITION - DO I NEED TO TELL YOU?
Yes, please fill in the registration form with as much detail as possible. The more information you provide us with, the better care we can provide for your child. Additionally, we will discuss your child's needs directly with you on the first day of camp.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS ILL OR HAS AN ACCIDENT AT CAMP?
Qualified first aiders are available at camp to handle accidents and illnesses. Minor incidents are often treated with care and "magical" paper tissues. However, if your child experiences a more serious injury or falls ill, we will contact you immediately. Upon pickup, we will ask you to sign an accident form.
MY CHILD IS GOING TO MISS 1-2 DAYS OF THE CAMP. CAN WE STILL BOOK IN?
Of course! We want to do our best to accommodate all families and fit into your schedule. Please get in touch with us at info@motiondance.org, and we can assist with your booking.
HOW IS PAYMENT MADE FOR THE CAMP?
Payments can be made directly through the Class For Kids system. Please note that a booking fee applies. Alternatively, you may choose to make payment via BACS to avoid this fee. We will then issue you confirmation of payment via email. Contact Christia at info@motiondance.org for further information.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Camp bookings are non-refundable. However, if your child is unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances, we will offer you credit for another camp.
